The township police department celebrated the graduation of another class of Junior Police Academy recruits at the police station on July 17.

Throughout the week, these young men and women challenged themselves with physical fitness, military drills, teamwork, leadership exercises and hands-on demonstrations from law enforcement, representing themselves, their families and the community.

Several officers helped make this year’s academy a success, according to the department. Running the program were Sgt. Brett Nelson; class leader officer Jessica Walton; PT and drill instructor officer Vince Cicatiello; and assistant instructors and officers Jonas Pagliarini, Morgan Loiodice and Chris Leadbeater

The police department praised their commitment, patience and mentorship for making a lasting impact on every recruit and thanked its many partner agencies and organizations for volunteering their time and providing recruits with an unforgettable experience.

“To our graduates, congratulations,” the department said in a statement. “We hope this week gave you a greater appreciation for law enforcement and public service, and we look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming National Night Out and future Junior Police Academies.

“Well done Class of 2026.”
