Voters in Washington Township went to the polls on Nov. 4 and elected members for an unexpired term on the Township Council and school board of education.
The Gloucester County Clerk’s Office has posted results from the election on its website, all of which are unofficial until a vote-counting process that could take more than a week is complete.
Vote totals do not include late mail-in and provisional ballots; they are expected to be tallied at a later date.
Washington Township Council
Republican candidate Dana Pasqualone, who was appointed to the seat, currently leads with 11,112 votes. Democratic candidate Dennis J. Lauria has received 9,919 votes. There are 20 write-in votes.
Washington Township Board of Education
Seven candidates vied for the three, three-year term seats on the Washington Township Board of Education.
Connie Baker and Julie Kozempel are incumbents, while Sean Lindsay, a former board member, is seeking another term; and James Masotti, Angelo Marano, Terri Schechter, Brandy Williams and Ben Smith are seeking their first terms.
As of Nov. 5, Baker leads with 7,625 votes, followed by Schechter with 7,116 votes, and Masotti with 6,110 votes.
Close behind are Lindsay with 6,105 votes and Kozempel with 6,102 votes. Smith has received 5,762 votes, Williams has received 4,101 votes and Marano has received 4,061 votes.
There are 298 write-in votes.
