The sun sets on summer

As summer begins to wind down, many families across Winslow Township are preparing for one of the most exciting times of the year: the start of a new school year. Admittedly, the parents may be more excited than the kids; however, it is a time of new beginnings for our youth who have worked hard to start the new year off right. Whether it’s a child’s first day of kindergarten, a student beginning high school, or a college freshman embarking on a new journey, this season represents fresh opportunities, new friendships, and the promise of growth.

On behalf of the Township Committee and all of us at Winslow Township, I want to wish every student, teacher, administrator, school employee, and parent a successful, safe, and rewarding school year. Your dedication helps shape the future of our community, and we are grateful for the important role each of you play.

As students return to the classroom, I also encourage everyone to help keep our neighborhoods safe. Please slow down, especially in school zones, and be mindful of children walking and biking to school. Always stop for school buses displaying flashing lights. A few extra moments of caution can make all the difference in keeping our children safe.

As we welcome this new season, let us continue working together to make Winslow Township a place where families thrive, businesses grow, and neighbors look out for one another.

Best wishes for a wonderful school year, and I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming community events. And don’t forget, Family Day is on August 22nd at New Brooklyn Park from 2 p.m.-7 p.m.!
