A homicide suspect from Virginia looking for his estranged wife was apprehended on Oct. 13 after Evesham officers responded to a call about an armed man at a private residence on Kelly Drive, according to a release from police.

The man was described as standing outside the residence at about 2 a.m., pointing a firearm at and threatening the homeowner. Investigators were then told by the home’s residents that the suspect, Amandeep Singh, was a relative who had allegedly traveled from Prince William County looking for his wife.

Township police eventually spotted Singh sitting in his vehicle in Medford and placed him under arrest without incident, according to the release. He was found to be in possession of multiple firearms, including a .40-caliber handgun believed to have been involved in the Evesham incident and an AK47 rifle with four, fully loaded high-capacity magazines.

Police later learned that a check of Singh’s residence in Virginia turned up two people dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Singh’s wife was later confirmed to be unharmed.
