A 26-year-old Monroe Township man has pleaded guilty to five of 26 charges against him that included the sexual assault of multiple minors and the manufacture of child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns has announced.
According to case documents and statements made in open court, one victim reported being sexually assulted by William I. McCray in October. A search of his residence turned up CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substances), other drug paraphernalia and cellular phones.
A forensic analysis of McCray’s electronic devices turned up more than 100 images and 40 video files containing CSAM. It was from those files that a second minor victim of sexual assault by McCray was identified, the prosecutor stated, with other victims indentified in photos, videos and chat messages.Â
McCray was arrested at his residence on Dec. 3. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manufacturing CSAM, second-degree sexual assault, third-degree possession of CSAM and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Â
The state is expected to recommend a sentence of 15 years in prison – with 85% served before McCray can be eligible for parole – plus an additional three years to be served consecutively. He will be subject to lifetime parole supervision, must register as a sex offender and can have no contact with any of his victims.
Sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 13.Â
