“Led by Love” Family Caregiver Support Group meetings are held monthly throughout the year from 9 a.m. to noon at 115 Budd Blvd., West Deptford. Dates include Sept. 17, Oct. 15, and Nov. 19.

Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. Blood Drives

The American Red Cross urges donors to keep the blood supply top of mind and help save lives by making an appointment to give blood or platelets. For those who come to give through July 31, the Red Cross will say thanks with a Fandango Movie Reward by email. Use it to catch a summer blockbuster on the Red Cross! Those who come to give Aug. 1-28 will receive a $15 e-gift card to a merchant of choice. Plus, the Red Cross will perform free A1C testing, commonly used to screen for prediabetes and diabetes, on successful donations (one test result per 12-month period). Hero Day, a “Dive and Donate” event, will be held at Bells Lake Swim Club from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.. 50 Bells Lake Dr., Turnersville. Bells Lake will donate 60% of all guest fees back to Paws healing Heroes and the Washington Township Police K9 Unit.

Saturday, Aug. 9

Tristate Veteran Memorial Fund is holding its second annual 5K Run and Walk at Washington Lake Park in benefit of their programs to benefit veterans. Thirty 10′ by 10′ garden plots are now available to interested Washington Township residents, located near Greentree Road entrance to Washington Lake Park. Gardens are available on a first come-first served basis and can be used to plant favorite fruits, vegetables, herbs or flowers from spring through fall. Washington Township uses the Everbridge notification system to notify residents of important community information such as weather emergencies nd changes to municipal services. The Washington Township Veterans Wall of Honor is accepting applications. Please note that eligibility to have a plaque on the Wall is: a Veteran who is a resident of Washington Township at the time of entrance into the military, a current resident, a member of a current resident’s immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, or child). Kindly include the Veteran’s DD 214 and submit a 5×7 photo, preferably in uniform. Applications are available in the Municipal Building. License Your Furry Friend. Licensing your dog is not just a state requirement, but it also helps reunite lost pets with their owners and supports local animal services. The licenses expire Jan. 31 of each year.

The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. If you or if you know someone that may benefit from this program, please download the Uber application and use it during the designated hours.

The Washington Township Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighter. Become part of a progressive organization with the most up-to-date firefighting and rescue technology in the area. The Washington Township Police Department is participating in the new Special Needs Registry and Blue Envelope Program sponsored by the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. The registry gives police quick access in an emergency to critical information about a person who is registered. Individuals will also get a blue window decal as well as a blue envelope for their vehicle. These items let the police know that the occupants have a physical or mental condition that may not be apparent to the officer on scene.
