The South Jersey Museum of American History is located at 138 Andaloro Way. The museum’s permanent exhibits include artifacts from the Pre-Columbian through the Colonial Eras, American Farmstead, Antique hand tools and equipment, the Pine Barrens, Glass and a Fossil exhibit.
The museum will offer Student Archaeology classes through July on Friday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will unravel the myth of what an archaeologist does in the field by taking part in an actual excavation on the grounds of the Andaloro Farmhouse.
“Led by Love” Family Caregiver Support Group meetings are held monthly throughout the year from 9 a.m. to noon at 115 Budd Blvd., West Deptford. Dates include Sept. 17, Oct. 15, and Nov. 19.

Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. Thirty 10′ by 10′ garden plots are now available to interested Washington Township residents, located near Greentree Road entrance to Washington Lake Park. Gardens are available on a first come-first served basis and can be used to plant favorite fruits, vegetables, herbs or flowers from spring through fall. The Washington Township Veterans Wall of Honor is accepting applications. Please note that eligibility to have a plaque on the Wall is: a Veteran who is a resident of Washington Township at the time of entrance into the military, a current resident, a member of a current resident’s immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, or child). Kindly include the Veteran’s DD 214 and submit a 5×7 photo, preferably in uniform. Applications are available in the Municipal Building. License Your Furry Friend. Licensing your dog is not just a state requirement, but it also helps reunite lost pets with their owners and supports local animal services. The licenses expire Jan. 31 of each year.
The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. The Washington Township Police Department is participating in the new Special Needs Registry and Blue Envelope Program sponsored by the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. The registry gives police quick access in an emergency to critical information about a person who is registered. Individuals will also get a blue window decal as well as a blue envelope for their vehicle. These items let the police know that the occupants have a physical or mental condition that may not be apparent to the officer on scene.
