Free police academy week

The Washington Township Police Department will host a free, four-night Citizen’s Police Academy program next month.

Participants will learn how the police department operates, meet its men and women and participate in interactive sessions. No physical fitness is required.

The dates of the academy are Thursday evenings on Oct. 2, 9 and 16. The final class and graduation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

The academy will take place at the police department in Sewell and is limited to 30 participants. Registration will run through Oct. 1.
