Rockin’ around in Voorhees – at a July concert

As the sun set on another beautiful summer evening, Connolly Park came to life with the second summer concert series of 2026 on July 23.

Stealing Savannah, a five-piece South Jersey band, took the stage, filling the air with hard-hitting rock anthems that included modern pop and country jams. Dooney’s Pub was on site selling beer, wine, and “crush” cocktails. Attendees also purchased food items from a variety of vendors, including Three Little Birds CafĂ©, Chick-Fil-A and Heavenly Shakes.

The evening’s event celebrated two timely moments: Christmas in July, and the capping off of patriotic celebrations.

As St. Nicholas strolled through the crowd, he was not wearing his typical red suit and cap. No, Santa was in vacation mode as he prepares for the 2026 holiday season, wearing a festive red button-up and shorts. Kids and parents alike excitedly met with him.

Stealing Savannah performed from 7 to 9 p.m., while the township also prepared for a patriotic drone show. As towns switch to these performances instead of traditional fireworks to improve safety; reduce environmental impact; and avoid space or noise limitations, the show did not disappoint.

Dancing through the sky to the tune of “Free Bird,” the drones provided patriotic images, including Uncle Sam’s hat; the Liberty Bell; and the red, white and blue numbers 250.

There is one more Thursday night concert planned for the remainder of the summer at 7 p.m. on Aug. 20, with The FM Band covering a variety of popular hits. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. Food and drink options will again be available.

The township allows guests to bring their own food items, but pets, alcohol, smoking and vaping are not permitted. The dog park is closed for the duration of the concert series.

The shows are made possible by a variety of local sponsors, including Archer & Greiner PC, Saddlehill Winery, Bowman and Company, Environmental Resolutions, Conner Strong and Buckelew, Columbia Bank and The Bank of Princeton.
