RCSJ Serves: College-Wide Week of Service September 8–11

In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) will host RCSJ Serves, bringing together students, staff, faculty, and nonprofit partners for a unified Week of Service across the RCSJ Gloucester and Cumberland campuses. Every act of service—big or small—helps strengthen our communities while honoring a legacy that continues to inspire us.   

Week of Service is now being held Tuesday, September 8 through Friday, September 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily.

• RCSJ Cumberland Campus Student and Enrollment Services Center, 3322 College Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360 

• RCSJ Gloucester Campus, Eugene J. McCaffrey College Center, 1400 Tanyard Road, Sewell, NJ 08080 

Throughout RCSJ Serves, participants will engage in hands-on volunteer opportunities, community engagement activities, reflection experiences, collection drives, and large-scale service initiatives to support both campus and surrounding South Jersey communities. Week of Service projects in collaboration with nonprofit partners include: 

• Food Drive Collection – Campus Care (VCSJ)  

• Hygiene Project Kit Packing – Hygiene Project   

• Flower Power Rock Painting – Flower Power, Inc.   

• Wellness Wall & Pantry Project – The Pantry at CWS 

• Community Hero Cards – Project Appreciation (VCSJ)  

• Veterans Freedom Blankets – New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland 

• Crochet a Scarf for those in Need – Crocheting for a Cause (VCSJ) 

• BookSmiles Book Bin Painting – BookSmiles

Each campus will also have a nonprofit exhibition to meet individuals who want to learn more about their organization and opportunities to get involved.

• Bay Atlantic Federal Credit Union

• Bestwork Industries for the Blind

• CU Maurice River

• Trinity First Hope Center

Nonprofit organizations at the Gloucester campus include:

• BookSmiles

• CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates)

• Center for Family Services Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV)

• Glassboro Child Development Center

• LUCY Outreach

• Nonprofit Development Center of Southern NJ

• Share My Meals

• TOPSports

RCSJ Serves is a collaboration between RCSJ, RCSJ Foundation, Volunteer Centers of South Jersey, Jersey Cares, AmeriCorps, and supported by a grant from 9/11 Day.
