Grief from the loss of a beloved pet is often a complex emotion. Those who love their pets like family are keenly aware that when our furry companions cross the Rainbow Bridge, a piece of your heart goes with them.

This is why United by Wellness, a part of the Mental Health Association, has partnered with Angelic Health grief professionals to provide Paws for Comfort, a support group for those experiencing the loss of a pet.

“These topic-focused open groups provide an opportunity to share your feelings, honor your pet’s memory, and connect with others who understand the deep bond we share with our animal companions,” said Seth Edwards, coordinator of United by Wellness. “Together, we’ll navigate the journey of healing through open conversations, shared experiences and mutual support.”

The bereavement counselors at Angelic Health Hospice will facilitate the sessions. The group meets virtually on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. Register at mhaac.info/USW. Questions? Email unitedbywellness@mhanj.org, or call 609-652-3800.
