Work is scheduled to begin next week on repaving a portion of Ong’s Hat Road in Southampton and Pemberton Township.

Pavement milling and overlay work on the road, also known as County Route 642, were originally expected to begin last month but was postponed. It is now scheduled to begin this Monday, July 7, between Burrs Mill Road in Southampton and Route 644 in Pemberton Township.

The resurfacing work is expected to take about two weeks to complete.

During the project, eastbound traffic on Ong’s Hat Road will be maintained, but westbound traffic will be detoured using Magnolia Road, Pemberton-Vincentown Road and Ridge Road. Detour signs will be deployed, but motorists using the roads will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.
