Winslow township approves agenda items for next school year

The Winslow Township Board of Education met June 24 and approved several measures involving staff assignments, grants, donations and fundraising activities.

Among the highlights was approval for Winslow Township High School to hold its Snap! Raise fundraiser from July 20 through Aug. 17.

The board also approved a request from Elementary School No. 2 to accept an anonymous $500 donation to purchase books for the school library from Second Time Books in Mount Laurel.

In addition, the board approved a request for Elementary School No. 2 to receive backpacks and school supplies from Merrill Lynch Corporation for the 2026-27 school year.

The board accepted the Literacy Initiative for Families and Thriving Communities (LIFT) grant in the amount of $60,000.

Also approved was the reappointment of middle school special education teacher Amos Amoako for the 2026-27 school year.

New hires approved for the 2026-27 school year include Odalis Garcia-Ramos as secretary at Elementary School No. 2; Miranda Jackmon as kindergarten teacher at Elementary School No. 4; Solei Jones as school nurse at the middle school; Melanie McAndrews as a special education teacher at Elementary School No. 4; and Jamal White as a high school special education teacher.

The board also approved several staff reassignments for the 2026-27 school year. Lynette Brown will move from principal of Elementary School No. 6 to principal of Elementary School No. 1. Nathan Davis will transition from principal of Elementary School No. 1 to assistant principal at the middle school. Kurtis Marella will move from principal of Winslow Township High School to principal of Elementary School No. 6. Jamil McEnnis will transition from assistant principal at Elementary School No. 6 to assistant principal at the high school. Cynthia Stewart-Dixon will move from assistant principal at Elementary Schools No. 1 and No. 2 to assistant principal at Elementary School No. 6. Maryann Sutphen will transition from learning disabilities teacher-consultant (LDTC) for Elementary Schools No. 1 and No. 2 to LDTC for Elementary School No. 3.

The next Winslow Township Board of Education meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 15.
