The Camden County Police Academy graduation ceremony on Dec. 4 was held at Dennis Flyer Theater on the campus of Camden County College.
Sixty-eight new officers celebrated a major milestone on Dec. 4 as they graduated from the 92nd Basic Police Recruit Class of the Camden County College Police Academy.
The graduation, held at the Dennis Flyer Theater on the Blackwood campus, recognized the dedication and hard work of recruits from across the region.
The graduating class represents a wide range of local law enforcement agencies, with five recruits joining the Camden County Police Department. In a keynote address, Chief Anthony Minosse of the Gloucester Township Police Department congratulated the new officers and offered guidance as they embark on their law enforcement careers.
“These new officers have demonstrated incredible discipline and dedication throughout the course of their training,” said Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli Jr. “The board of commissioners looks forward to seeing the positive impact they will have on communities throughout our region.”
A cherished tradition of the academy was observed during the ceremony: badge-pinning. Many recruits were pinned into their new profession by a family member who is currently serving or has retired from law enforcement.
Among the graduates representing Gloucester Township were officers Tyler Shrader and William Franz. Following the ceremony, police staff, the two officers, and their families gathered in a nearby classroom where Police Chief Anthony Minosse and Deputy Chief John Stollsteimer presented them with the department’s Challenge Coin and Mission Statement plaque.
“Ptl. Tyler Shrader and Ptl. William Franz will report to the Gloucester Township Police Professional Development Bureau for patrol tactics, firearms and in-service training,” the department noted. “Once completed, they will be assigned to their platoon and continue their training with a field training officer for several weeks.”
The 92nd Basic Police Recruit Class includes graduates joining police departments and sheriff’s offices throughout South Jersey, including Camden County, Burlington Township, Vineland and Evesham Township.
