Second- and third-grade students at Harrison Township Elementary School got to learn about proper care for pets during an assembly on April 10.

Students explored veterinarians, vet techs and shelter workers; what happens when a pet goes to the vet; the education necessary to become a vet; how doctors care for animals and how shelters help them; and foods to avoid with pets.
