Harrison Elementary physical education teacher Kelly Meagher has earned the school’s red wagon award for the month of May.
The award is a special recognition that celebrates staffers who consistently spread positivity, support those around them and go above and beyond to make Harrison Elementary an inspiring place to learn and grow. Fellow physical education teacher Frank McGuigan presented the award to Meagher.
“For my Red Wagon nominee,” McGuigan explained, “I really wanted to make an outside-the-box pick. And in the end, after taking everything into consideration, I couldn’t even get outside the box that is my little office. This person is someone who I have come to count on over the years for assistance, or a quick idea. Her organization and need for order has earned her the nickname of “Little Mickey,” and compliments my organization and need for order, as well.
“We have the cleanest and most orderly office in the building,” he added. “We’ve come to know what each other is thinking at times and have kept a nubbin from a badminton birdie alive for a couple years now by hiding it in each other’s belongings.
“My Red Wagon Award winner for the month of May is my office mate, Kelly Meagher.”
