Jazz at the library

The Gloucester County Library System will host an evening of live jazz with the Brian Betz Duo at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, at the Mullica Hill branch.

Betz is a guitarist, composer and educator based in the Philadelphia area who performs across the country with a variety of other artists. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rowan University and is a two-time winner of the Betty Carter International Jazz Competition. He was also a runner-up in the 2006 Henry Mancini Jazz Competition.

In addition to jazz guitar and improvisation at the collegiate level, Betz also teaches in the Paulsboro schools and was recognized as one of New Jersey’s top teachers by the NJEA (New Jersey Education Association) and FOX 29 in 2018.

Online registration for the event is requested but not required at the GCLS website.
