Tai Chi for Health: Ages 18 years and up. 4 to 5 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Certified instructor Bob Stanton teaches tai chi, a gentle exercise that can improve muscle tone, flexibility, and coordination. This class can be done seated or standing. Caregiver & Me Yoga: For ages 2 to 5 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. This event is for residents to be able to connect with their child through yoga. This class incorporates yoga poses, breathing techniques, music, and games in a safe and engaging way. The class is open to children of all abilities. Participants should bring a mat if possible (the library will also have some available to borrow). Registration for the child only is required at www.mtlaurel.lib.nj.us.
Baby & Me Meetup: For newborns to 18 months. 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Mount Library. Join the library for an informal, unstructured meetup for caregivers. Caregivers can bring a coffee and snacks and chat with other caregivers. The library staff will provide developmentally appropriate toys and books to play with. No registration required.

Saturday, Aug. 16
Book Club Meeting: Ages 18 years and up. 1 to 2 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Residents are invited to join the library for a discussion of “Other Birds” by Sarah Addison Allen. This group meets every six weeks, the book for the next discussion will be passed out at this meeting for any participants who would like to borrow a copy. Newcomers are always welcome. The books discussed are also available from the library in eBook and audiobook form on Libby or Hoopla.
Monday, Aug. 18
Move and Groove: For ages 18 months to 5 years. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Join in for this weekly outdoor event where participants will be able to celebrate music through rhymes, songs, and dance-alongs. This program will give kids a chance to learn new dance moves and get active. No registration required.

Residents are invited for stories, songs, rhymes, and a take-home craft or coloring page as a new theme is explored every week. Open Door Art Club: For age groups 5 to 9 years, 10 to 13 years, and 14 to 18 years. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Residents are invited to join the library in their craft room for a low-key, unguided art program. The library will provide basic art supplies and participants can create whatever they want to in a stress and judgment-free environment. Participants may bring a piece they’re already working on, or use the library’s supplies to create a new one.
Mahjong: For ages 18 years and up. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Mahjong is a popular tile-based game of strategy and skill. Some experience is recommended for this event. Participants may bring a National Mahjong League 2023 card and a mahjong set. No registration required.
