Participants in grades K to 5 will learn how to play dreidel and split into groups to play a few rounds at 4:15 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the Moorestown Library. Each participant will leave with a dreidel of their own. Register on the library website.

Thursday, Dec. 11

Mahjong 1 p.m.

Dreidel tournament 4:15 p.m. For grades K-5. Participants will learn how to play dreidel and split into groups to play a few rounds. Each participant will leave with a dreidel of their own. Sponsored by the Moorestown Jewish Association and the Friends of the Library.

Opera roundtable with Andrea Chénier 6:30 p.m.

Grab and Go Hanukkah Craft. For children. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Saturday, Dec. 13

Hora de cuentos: Bilingual story time with Miss Joselyn 10 a.m. For children ages 3 and up.

Kids chess 10 a.m.

Peace Pole dedication 1:30 p.m. A dedication ceremony will be held for the new Peace Pole installed in front of the library. The Peace Pole was generously donated by the Moorestown Lunch Rotary. The poles are intended to serve as a silent prayer for peace.

Concert: Bronwyn Beth, electric violinist 2 p.m. Experience a wide array of genres, from classics to favorite Disney hits. Sponsored by the Friends of the Moorestown Library and Wegmans.

Sunday, Dec. 14

Moorestown Mutual Aid 1 p.m. Participants will talk about what mutual aid looks like in town; explore ways to give and receive help; and start building a community network rooted in solidarity, dignity and belonging. 

Learn about service dogs 2 p.m. Join South Jersey K-9, along with service dog Villy, for a dog-themed story and interactive, kid-friendly talk.

Complex PTSD support group and book club 3 p.m. The goal is to provide encouragement, support and education in a safe environment for any adult struggling with the disorder.

Monday, Dec. 15

Knitting group meetup 10:30 a.m.

ESL (English as a Second Language) Conversation Group 5 p.m.

International Cinema Night With Michael: “Julieta” 6:30 p.m.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group 7 p.m. The group offers caregivers a place to share feelings and concerns, discuss challenges and learn about available resources.

Tuesday, Dec. 16

Make a gumdrop Christmas tree 4:15 p.m. For children ages 4 and up. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Joe’s spooky Victorian Christmas 7 p.m. Local storyteller and teacher Joe Wetterling will be your guide through the funny, heartfelt, and sometimes macabre Christmas of a century and a half ago, featuring carols, cards, crackers and some Charles Dickens.

All-ages story time 10 a.m.

Wednesday, Dec. 17

Open play time 10:30 a.m. For children of all ages.

Rummikub Noon.

Library trustees meeting 7 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 18

The Moorestown Jewish Association’s annual menorah lighting will be held on the Community House lawn at 6 p.m. The free event will feature food and entertainment and will celebrate Hanukkah as well as the spirit of community and unity in Moorestown.

Thursday, Dec. 18

The Friends Enrichment Program of Moorestown Friends Meeting is holding a free program at the Moorestown Friends Meetinghouse at 7 p.m. “Imagine That! Theatrical Improv,” with Georgeann Catanella, is all about being creative and spontaneous. Youth from ages 7 to 17 will connect through group improv games.

Historic Preservation Commission meeting 7 p.m. at town hall.
