Meet the Instruments: Woodwinds. Moorestown Library. 10:30 a.m. Learn about the instruments that make up the woodwind section of the orchestra. Symphony in C musicians will give presentations about the flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and French horn and will perform various short works that highlight these instruments. After the show, meet the musicians, ask questions and enjoy the instrument “petting zoo,” your chance to touch and hold some of the woodwind instruments. This program is made possible through a grant from the D’Olier Foundation.

The Significance of the Still Family to 1800s American History. Moorestown Library. 6:30 p.m. This presentation includes brief biographies on William Still, a major conductor of the Underground Railroad, his brother Peter, who was left in slavery as a young boy and survived 40 years to reunite with his family, and Dr. James Still, a self-taught herbalist, who became one of the wealthiest African Americans in New Jersey during the 1800s. This presentation will also touch on the present-day community efforts to preserve, educate and restore the historic medical office of Dr. James Still Historic Office Site and Education Center, located in Medford.
