Cinnaminson Township Public Schools provided an update on vote tallies for the District’s special election held on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. While initial tallies indicated that both measures were narrowly trailing, the mail-in ballot counting completed as of September 23 confirmed that voters officially approved Question 1 by a margin of 1,744 yes votes to 1,735 no votes. Question 2 was defeated with 1,536 yes votes to 1,927 no votes.
With the approval of Question 1 ($57.7 Million), the District will proceed with essential infrastructure, security and instructional space modernizations across all five schools. Question 1 projects address facility needs that include districtwide aging roof and HVAC replacements, electrical service upgrades, public address system modernizations, fire alarm replacements and expanded security camera networks. Additionally, the funding provides an 8-classroom addition at Eleanor Rush Intermediate School, a new 1-story gymnasium featuring 6 additional classrooms for Art and Music at New Albany Elementary School, and state-of-the-art STEM, robotics, and eSports spaces at both Cinnaminson Middle School and Cinnaminson High School.
In addition, Cinnaminson will secure New Jersey Debt Service Aid, covering up to 40% of eligible project costs. Because state revenue supporting school construction is funded by taxpayers statewide, passing Question 1 ensures that millions of dollars in state aid return to Cinnaminson to directly lower the local property tax impact. Without this voter approval, those state dollars would have been redirected to fund school improvements in other New Jersey communities, leaving local taxpayers to foot the entire bill for necessary facility repairs down the road.

This approval allows us to address critical infrastructure needs, relieve crowded classrooms, and build safe, inspiring spaces where our students and staff will thrive for years to come.”
