Special to The Sun

To the editor:

I am writing to share a heartwarming and inspiring story that I believe your readers will enjoy. At my recent wedding, I had the honor and privilege of being accompanied by a truly remarkable woman as my Maid of Honor, my dear friend Dr. Catherine Hand, who is 99 years young. I was married at the Moorestown Community House on May 24.

With a sparkle in her eye and grace in her step, she stood proudly by my side, offering her love, wisdom and unwavering support. Her presence was not only deeply meaningful to me personally but also a testament to the enduring power of friendship, family, and joy at every age.

We believe she may be the oldest Maid of Honor in the United States – possibly even the world. While records of such things may be hard to come by, her spirit, poise and participation at nearly a century old deserve recognition and celebration.

In a time when stories of resilience and love are especially needed, I hope you’ll consider sharing this joyful milestone with your readers.
