The I-295 exit ramps to Route 73 are scheduled to be closed and detoured beginning Wednesday night, July 29 for approximately one month for priority gas main work in Mount Laurel, Burlington County. In addition, the left lane on Route 73 in both directions is scheduled to be closed over I-295 with traffic shifted to the right beginning Friday morning.
I-295 Ramp Closures
Beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29, the I-295 southbound Exit 36A ramp to Route 73 southbound and the I-295 northbound Exit 36B ramp to Route 73 northbound are scheduled to be closed and detoured for approximately one month. The closures are necessary for priority gas main repairs on Route 73. The following detours will be in place:
I-295 southbound Exit 36A to Route 73 southbound Detour:
- Motorists on I-295 southbound wishing to take Exit 36A to Route 73 eastbound will be directed to continue on I-295 southbound
- Take Exit 34B/Route 70 westbound
- Continue on Route 70 westbound
- Turn right onto Route 41/Kings Highway northbound
- Stay right for Old Kings Highway, back to Route 73 southbound
I-295 northbound Exit 36B to Route 73 northbound Detour:
- Motorists on I-295 northbound wishing to take Exit 36B to Route 73 northbound will be directed to continue on I-295 northbound
- Take Exit 40B/Route 38 westbound
- Continue on Route 38 westbound
- Stay right to take the ramp onto Route 73 northbound
Route 73 Lane Closures and Traffic Shift
Beginning at 8 p.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, July 29 until 6 a.m. Thursday, July 30, and again on Thursday, July 30 at the same time, the left lane on Route 73 in both directions is scheduled to be closed on the Bridge over I-295. One lane of traffic will be maintained overnight. The closure is necessary to install construction barrier and restripe the road to prepare for a traffic shift.
By 6 a.m. Friday, July 31, the left lane on Route 73 in both directions will remain closed with traffic shifted to the right to create a center work zone. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction. The closure and traffic shift are expected to be in place for approximately one month and are necessary for priority gas main repairs. Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and expect delays when driving through the work zone.
