Deptford High School track and field coach Walter “Sonny” Anderson was inducted into the Gloucester County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2025 on Oct. 28. He is a former high-school and college runner and has 47 years of coaching experience in both track and field and cross country at a variety of levels. At Deptford High, he’s coached eight All State athletes, 11 sectional champions, 31 county champions and eight individual state champions. He has also coached an Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist in the 4 x 100m Women’s Relay.
