Student arrested after bus altercation

A 17-year-old Deptford High female student was arrested on Feb. 25 after an altercation with another female juvenile on a school bus near Ironwood Drive and Village Boulevard.

Police responded to the area at 3:05 p.m. and eventually deescalated the situation. One of the females was transported to Cooper Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released later the same day. No one else was injured.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office approved charges against the arrested juvenile of aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose.
