Burlington County will start mailing General Election vote-by-mail ballots to registered voters who requested them this weekend, so those voters should be on the lookout for their ballot to arrive soon.

More than 50,000 vote-by-mail ballots are being sent to voters in advance of the Nov. 4 General Election. Voters can cast those ballots in multiple ways, including by mail, drop box or by bringing them directly to the Burlington County Board of Elections office. No postage is necessary to return a vote-by-mail ballot to Burlington County.

“Voting by mail is a simple way for voters to cast ballot when it’s most convenient for their schedule,” said Burlington County Clerk Joanne Schwartz. “It’s an easy, secure and legal method to exercise this important right, and it’s not too late to request a VBM ballot.”

The Burlington County Elections Board will accept completed VBM ballots at their office at 301 Harper Drive in Moorestown during their regular hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays leading up to Election Day. On Election Day, Nov. 4, the board will accept ballots on location until polls close at 8 p.m.

There are also 29 secure drop boxes located throughout the county including one immediately outside the Elections building. VBM ballots can be deposited in drop boxes at all hours up until 8 p.m. on Election Day.

A full list of all drop box locations is available online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/2102/Secure-Ballot-Drop-Boxes.

Completed VBM ballots submitted through the U.S. Postal Service will also be accepted with a postmark before 8 p.m. on Nov. 4 and are received by the Board of Elections within six days after the Election.

Registered voters interested in voting with a VBM ballot can still request one from the Clerk’s Office. A request form can be found online at https://www.co.burlington.nj.us/996/Vote-by-Mail-Information. Completed forms can be mailed to the following: Honorable Joanne Schwartz, Burlington County Clerk; P.O. Box 6000, Mount Holly, NJ 08060.

VBM applications can also be submitted to the Clerk’s Office in-person at either the Clerk’s office at 50 Rancocas Road, Mount Holly or at the Burlington County Elections Building, 301 Harper Drive, Moorestown.

VBM applications must arrive at the Clerk’s Office no later than Oct. 28 for ballots to be mailed to the voter. After that date, registered voters must go to either Clerk’s office to make a request in-person.

The final date to request and receive a VBM ballot in person is Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. No VBM ballots will be issued after that date.

Voters with questions about the election, vote-by-mail or other voting methods can call the Burlington County Elections hotline at (609) 265-VOTE (8683).

Specific questions related to vote-by-mail ballots can also be e-mailed to the Clerk’s Office at votebymail@co.burlington.nj.us.
