On Thursday, August 13, 2026, at approximately 3:44 a.m., Cherry Hill Police officers responded to the Grand Apartments, 1900 Frontage Road, following reports of gunfire in the parking lot and a vehicle fleeing the area. Officers located a parked vehicle that had been struck multiple times by gunfire. No injuries were reported.
Cherry Hill Police detectives, with assistance from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Unit, began an investigation. Through surveillance footage, physical evidence, and other investigative methods, detectives identified Brian A. Bush, 18, of Sanford, Florida, as the individual alleged to have fired multiple rounds at the vehicle.
Following consultation with the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, Bush was charged with:
· Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, second-degree
· Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, second-degree
· Criminal Mischief, third-degree
A warrant was issued for Bush’s arrest.
On August 14, investigative leads assisted investigators in locating the wanted vehicle in Suffolk County, New York. Suffolk County Police subsequently conducted a motor vehicle stop and took Bush into custody. A handgun was recovered during the encounter. Bush remains in custody in New York pending extradition to New Jersey.
