In an effort to bring business and development to Westville, borough officials attended the “30 Mayors & 30 Developers” event at the Rowan College of South Jersey’s Deptford campus on Sept. 16.
Mayor Fritz Sims, Council President Bruce Nordaby, Councilmember Travis Lawrence, Administrator Ryan Giles, Superintendent Martin Finger of the Department of Public Works and Planning & Business Development Committee member and resident Renee Gay set up a table at the well-attended event.
The college hosted the meet and greet to give an opportunity for towns to showcase and promote their respective towns’ wants and needs related to redevelopment and attracting businesses to downtown business districts.
“We were able to connect and network with many of the approximately 55 redevelopers who signed up to attend this event,” Mayor Sims said.
“We, along with office staff, prepared an amazing presentation with poster boards showing the areas in need of redevelopment, pocket folders with information about Westville and its history along with other handouts about Westville,” he said.
“Our redevelopment efforts have been ongoing for some time now and we will continue with those efforts to support all of our current businesses and residents. We look forward to continuing to make connections, explore opportunities, and promote Westville as a great place to live, work, visit, and do business,” the mayor said.
