The New Jersey Department of Agriculture will celebrate the 16th annual Jersey Fresh Farm to School Week and Ag Literacy Week with three visits this week across Hunterdon, Cumberland, and Mercer counties. During these events, NJDA will present the Best in New Jersey Farm to School Award, the Cream of the Crop Award, and the Farmer Recognition Award to schools and farms demonstrating outstanding commitment to connecting students with locally grown food and agricultural education. ​​
The visits will include Jersey Fresh lunches, taste tests, school garden tours, hands-on student activities, and recognition of farmers who partner with schools to provide fresh, local products. The Department of Agriculture will be presenting the Cream of the Crop Award at 11 a.m., on Thursday, September 24, to Bridgeton School District at Buckshutem Road School, 550 Buckshutem Road, Bridgeton, NJ 08302.
