BROOKLAWN 9/11 CEREMONY

Exactly 25 years following the attack on America, citizens from the surrounding communities will come together at Brooklawn United Methodist Church, Maude and Hannevig avenues for a commemoration ceremony at 7 p.m. to honor the victims of September 11, 2001.

Sponsored by American Legion Post 72 in Brooklawn, the ceremony honors the victims of the attack on the World Trade Center, Pentagon, airline flight takeover and the American military service personnel who have died in the battle against terrorism while other members of the service continue to fight, Chairman Ted Howarth said.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Alice Costello Elementary School would like to thank the Brooklawn Police Department for their generous donation of school supplies. “We will surely put them to good use,” school administrators said.

The Brooklawn Police Community Foundation was proud to donate approximately $500 in school supplies to ACES to help support students and classrooms as they prepare for the new school year. Members of the Brooklawn Police Department joined school leadership to deliver the supplies and celebrate another opportunity to support the community.

MEMORY WALK

Gloucester City American Legion Post 135 is taking over the Memory Brick Walk in Proprietor’s Park in memory of the late Mrs. Patti Kropp, who asked that people remember her by donating and helping Post 135 in their effort to assist and care for homeless veterans.

To that end, the post will use all the proceeds from the brick walk to assist homeless veterans.

For information go to the post home on Cumberland Street or contact American Legion member Vince “Vinny” Baehr.
