Despite different interests and ambitions, Moorestown High School’s Class of 2026 valedictorian Neeka Vojdani believes she and her peers have remained part of a tight-knit community that has consistently shown up for one another over the past four years.

“From elementary school up until now, we have watched one another grow into the people we are today,” she said at the school’s June 18 commencement ceremony. “Now, for perhaps the first time in our lives, there is no singular path ahead of us that encompasses all our futures.”

All 296 alumni will strengthen communities, create opportunities and inspire others, Vojdani added, and that will leave a greater mark than any title or award ever could. The future is not shaped by a single defining moment, rather it is shaped by the culmination of choices made every day.

“As we move forward, I encourage each of you to approach these choices with integrity and purpose,” she noted, “because our legacies are defined by the character we demonstrate, the communities we build and the lives we touch. Long after individual accomplishments fade into memory, the impact we have had on others will surely remain.”

One thing senior class president Isabella Palermo learned after endless late-night study sessions is that there is no way to tell the story of every person with whom she walked the school halls.

“We won state championships, performed award-winning shows, had concerts, and on top of all of that, our class dedicated approximately 28,000 hours of service and 160 students graduated with honors, which really is incredible,” she enthused.

“ … For the future, laugh harder, start the conversation and try the unexpected, because there really is no perfect timeline for success, but there’s a very real time frame for making memories with the people you love and taking advantage of the opportunities and the moment.”

From freshman year, the class of 2026 graduates made their mark, explored opportunities and continued to discover who they are, observed Principal Andrew Seibel.

“Each one of them is going to take on their journey,” he related, “and each and every one of you is ready. But I’m not sure I’m ready to let you go.”

Superintendent Courtney McNeely believes that as important as the graduates’ accomplishments are, the most impressive thing about them is who they’ve become, the way they treat people and the way they show up for one another.

“As you pursue all that comes next,” McNeely advised, “hold on to the qualities that brought you here: your character, your curiosity and your ability to care about and connect with other people. These qualities will serve you well no matter where life takes you, and wherever that may be, I hope you remember this place.”
