A Gloucester County grand jury has filed more charges against a 36-year-old township resident and former teacher already indicted for the 2021 sexual assault of a minor.
Ashley A. Fisler was charged on March 26 with first-degree sexual assault of a minor, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and second-degree official misconduct. New charges from the county grand jury include first-degree manufacturing and third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and third-degree distribution of obscenity to a minor.
Fisler is being held at the Salem County Jail pending trial.
According to documents in the case, the victim – now an adult – disclosed on Jan. 23 that she allegedly had a sexual relationship with Fisler while still a minor and while he was one of her teachers at Orchard Valley Middle School. She described multiple sexual encounters in Fisler’s vehicle and in her classroom. Text messages between Fisler and the victim later confirmed the unlawful sexual nature of their relationship.
The first-degree charges against Fisler could bring a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison. The second-degree charges each carry a maximum penalty of 10 years and the third-degree charges each carry a maximum penalty of five years.
The county prosecutor in the case and township police were credited with Fisler’s arrest and indictment.

A former Orchard Valley Middle School teacher was indicted on 12 different counts by a county grand jury.
