Flags for Forgotten Soldiers volunteers joined Monroe Mayor Greg Wolfe and county Deputy Commissioner Jim Jefferson on May 7 at the ambulance and rescue association’s building to place 660 flags that each represents the number of veterans who die by their own hand every month.
On hand were several local organizations, including American Legion Post 252 of Williamstown, the Williamstown Fire Department, the Cecil Fire Company, Monroe council, the police and public works departments, the MUA and the Monroe Woman’s Club.

“Together,” the township posted on social media, “we can raise awareness, spark important conversation and support efforts toward prevention.”
