As part of its continued Autism Awareness Month relaunch, the Monroe police department is introducing the Public Safety Alliance for Individuals with Disabilities Program.
The free, voluntary program helps first responders better assist individuals with disabilities or special needs by providing critical information during emergencies or interactions. Monroe police have also recently updated an interactive website to include the words “easy access.”

The alliance also provides emergency contacts and important details used only when needed. Register for the program on the department website.
“Together, we are working to build a safer, more inclusive community for everyone,” the department said on social media.
