Mayor Gina Tait recently passed on her own children’s books to state Sen. Troy Singleton’s book drive, which runs through March 31. New and gently used children’s books will be donated to BookSmiles, a local organization that seeks to “irrigate book deserts” by building personal libraries for kids in need.
