Please follow some of the Voorhees Township Police Department’s guidelines to keep your vehicles safe and secure.
- Adopt the 9 p.m. routine: Make it a habit to lock your car doors and close all windows by 9 p.m. each night. This small step can significantly reduce the risk of theft.
- Keep valuables out of sight: Ensure that no valuables are left inside your vehicle, as this can deter potential thieves and keep your belongings safe.
- Invest in a steering wheel lock: Using a locking device mounted on your steering wheel can serve as an effective deterrent, making it much harder for intruders to drive away with your car.
- Secure keys properly: Always remove your keys from the ignition when leaving your vehicle unattended. Keep your garage-door opener out of the car to prevent intruders from easily accessing your home.
- Protect tires: Since car tires are often targeted, consider installing a wheel lock system to make it more challenging for anyone to remove your tires and rims.
- Stay vigilant: If you notice any suspicious activity or have been a victim of a theft, call 911. Your awareness can play a vital role in preventing crime in your area.
By implementing these proactive measures, you can help contribute to a safer environment for yourself and our community.
