First Methodist Church in Moorestown will host its fourth annual health fair on Saturday, Feb. 21, at 9 a.m.

This year’s keynote speakers are Karen Reiner, co-founder of the nonprofit MooreUnity, and Alisandra Wederich, a facilitator of GiveMoore Mutual Aid, an organization focused on building neighbor-to-neighbor connections, reciprocity and care.

MooreUnity’s mission is to bridge divides and facilitate unity in the community through programs that help people learn about different perspectives, beliefs and cultures. GiveMoore Mutual Aid falls under the MooreUnity umbrella and creates space for residents to both ask for and offer support in small, meaningful ways, strengthening community trust and resilience.

“This health fair takes place during Random Acts of Kindness week,” Reiner explained. “Doing small, thoughtful favors for others is at the heart of the GiveMoore Mutual Aid concept. This builds meaningful connections and strengthens a healthy community of neighbors who look out for each other.”

After the keynote addresses will be seminars on various topics that begin at 9:45 a.m. throughout the building, and health-related vendors will have booths in Fellowship Hall. Attendees can choose three seminar sessions to attend. Topics include cardiovascular disease, music therapy (for neurodevelopment), financial planning, healthy snacks, yoga, physical therapy, technology for older adults and spiritual health.

“Health comes in such a variety of forms, and it’s important to keep your eyes open to each of them, because they all work together in a way to bring out the best in each of us, and each is important to people at different stages of their lives,” noted Jeremiah Appleton, program ministries coordinator for the church.

“We hope to continue to create the view that First Methodist Church is a place that cares about the community. (The church) understands the importance of healthy living in the variety of ways that takes shape, and we hope that members from the community will want to come out and take advantage of this event, and the wonderful speakers and the amazing session topics that we have.”
