Knit & Crochet: For ages 18 years and up. 1 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Like to knit or crotchet? Join this friendly group. Beginners to experts are welcome to attend. Participants must bring their own materials. No registration required.

Saturday, Dec. 27

Chess Club: All ages. 2 to 3 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. New and experienced players are invited to the library for a game of chess. The library staff will provide chess board but participants may bring their own. No registration required.

Monday, Dec. 29

Silent Book Club: For ages 18 years and up. 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. This club is foor residents looking for a cozy spot to read in companionable silence or a place to gather with other book lovers and find out what they’re reading. Every other Monday evening the club meets, the first half hour will be set aside to share what participants are currently reading, and the next hour will be for quiet reading.

The library staff will provide a comfortable seating area and refreshments, participants may bring their own book or choose one from library shelves.

Tuesday, Dec. 30

Hunters of the Sky with Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge: For ages 6 years and up. 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Students in this event are introduced to a variety of raptors (birds of prey) through an engaging lesson. They will observe each species’ unique characteristics and learn about its adaptations. Participants will learn how raptors fit in the ecosystem and use these adaptations to succeed in the wild. This event includes a visit with some of Cedar Run’s live animal ambassadors.

This program includes live animals. Registration is required at www.mountlaurel.librarycalendar.com. Register kids only, no need to register accompanying adults.

Mahjong: For ages 18 years and up. 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mount Laurel Library. Mahjong is a popular tile-based game of strategy and skill. Some experience is recommended for this event. Participants may bring a National Mahjong League 2023 card and a mahjong set. No registration required.
