Township and Rancocas Woods light up the night

The township again partnered with Rancocas Woods Business Association to host it fifth annual tree lighting on Dec. 4 along Creek Road.

The association is a nonprofit whose goal is to preserve and revitalize the Shops at Rancocas Woods and the surrounding area. It hosts various events and fundraisers throughout the year to support township celebrations and local small businesses.

For three hours, families at the tree lighting could indulge in activities that included holiday gift shopping at the shops along Creek Road, a winter-themed bounce house, hot chocolate from Four Green Cats Café, food trucks and photos with Santa Claus and the Grinch. The former arrived on a township fire truck at 6 p.m..

Township officials including Mayor Nikitas Moustakas and Deputy Mayor Stephen Steglik helped Santa light the tree.

The event was sponsored by a collaboration between the public works department, township staff, volunteers at Rancocas Woods and Shops, the township police and fire department and the Mount Laurel’s Emergency Medical Services.
