The township is again partnering with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) to help residents obtain a REAL ID and receive other services.

The unit will be on hand on Monday, Dec. 29, through Wednesday, Dec. 31, and again on Friday, Jan. 2, at the community center, 100 Mount Laurel Road.

Since May 7, anyone who typically uses a driver’s license or non-driver ID – instead of a passport or other form of ID – to fly domestically is required to have a REAL ID. Without it, a passport or another federally approved form of identification is necessary.

To obtain the ID, drivers must have documentation worth six “points,” which can include a Social Security card and proof of residential address. The unit offers other MVC services, including registration renewal, initial driver permits – not tests – non-driver ID and duplicate/replacement titles and registrations.

Appointments are required at www.telegov.njportal.com/njmvcmobileunit. Exceptions are services such as surrendering license plates and obtaining handicapped, veterans and Purple Heart placards.
