Official: Palmyra election results

Voters in Palmyra either went to the polls early, voted on Election Day on Nov. 4, or mailed in votes to elect members for council and for school board.

There were a number of council seats open. Four candidates – Republicans Thomas Locke and Alexandra Jenkins and Democratic incumbents Natashia Latimore and John Liebe – vied for two, three-year term seats.

There were 5,783 votes cast. Liebe, with 1,960 votes, and Latimore, with 1,902, won the two seats. Locke and Jenkins received 1,015 and 898 votes, respectively.

There were four write-in votes.

Two candidates – Republican and former mayor Michelle Arnold and Democratic incumbent Richard Dreby – vied for a two-year unexpired term seat. There were 2,930 votes cast. Dreby received 2,066 votes over Arnold, with 852.

There were six write-in votes.

Two candidates – Republican Robert Zoll and Democratic incumbent Sean O’Connell – vied for a one-year unexpired term seat. There were 2,890 votes cast. O’Connell received 2,044 votes over Zoll, with 840.

There were three write-in votes.

Palmyra Board of Education

The general election race for the three, three-year term open seats on the board was uncontested. Cara L. Broadbelt, Erika Starr Celley and Kate Allen-Yoakum ran for reelection.

There were 6,954 votes cast. Celley received the most votes with 2,323, followed by Broadbelt with 2,266 and Allen-Yoakum with 2,238.

There were 64 write-in votes.
