Official: State-wide election results

Democrat Mikie Sherrill defeated Republican Jack Ciattarelli for governor in the general election on Nov. 4, according to official results.

Democrats gained five seats in the state assembly, with 57, while Republicans will have 23. In the five legislative districts covered by the Sun Newspapers, Democrats won all 10 seats.

Sherrill, a U.S. Navy veteran, has been a Congresswoman since 2018. She will be inaugurated on Jan. 20. She received 1,896,556 votes – 56.8% of the total – to Ciattarelli’s 1,417,697 – at 42.5 %.

The official results, including provisional ballots, are as follows:

STATE ASSEMBLY

THIRD DISTRICT

Democrats Heather Simmons (47,878 votes) and Dave Bailey Jr. (47,626) defeated Republicans Chris Konawell (44,823) and Lawrence Moore (44,385) for two seats.

FOURTH DISTRICT

Democrats Dan Hutchinson (52,232 votes) and Cody D. Miller (52,014) defeated Republicans Amanda Esposito (42,458) and Gerard “Jerry” McManus (41,549) for two seats.

FIFTH DISTRICT

Democrats William F. Moen Jr. (49,258 votes) and William W. Spearman (49,369) defeated Republicans Constance Ditzel (20,225) and Nilsa Gonzalez (20,233) for two seats.

SIXTH DISTRICT

Democrats Louis D. Greenwald (62,788 votes) and Melinda Kane (62,095) defeated Republicans John M. Brangan (28,647) and Peter Sykes (27,805) for two seats.

SEVENTH DISTRICT

Democratic candidates Carol Murphy (62,681 votes) and newcomer Balvir Singh (60,758) defeated Republican candidates Douglas Dillon (30,556) and Dione Johnson (30,122) for two seats.

CAMDEN COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Democrats Edward T. McDonnell (125,618 votes) and Colleen Bianco Bezich (124,392) defeated Republicans Christian A. Navarro (58,298) and Robert Stone (57,990) for two seats.

Democrat Jennifer Fleisher (127,811 votes) defeated Republican Shane Bernat (57,101) for one unexpired seat.

CAMDEN COUNTY SURROGATE

Democrat Michelle Gentek-Mayer (122,154 votes) defeated Republican Adam Nieves (54,510).

GLOUCESTER COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Democrats Frank DiMarco (68,586 votes) and Tom Bianco (66,668) defeated Republicans Jonathan Sammons (57,822) and Bryon Driscoll (57,872) for two seats.

BURLINGTON COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

Democrat Allison Eckel (112,037 votes) defeated Republican Joe Abegg (72,601) for a full term. Democrat Randy Brolo (110,377) defeated Republican Nick Pawlyzyn (73,153) for an unexpired term.

BURLINGTON COUNTY SHERIFF

Democrat James Kostoplis (111,358 votes) defeated Republican Erik Johnston (74,105).
