The South Jersey Museum of American History is located at 138 Andaloro Way. “Led by Love” Family Caregiver Support Group meetings are held monthly throughout the year from 9 a.m. to noon at 115 Budd Blvd., West Deptford. Dates include Oct. 15, and Nov. 19.

Serve-A-Tray program, which is for seniors 60 or older, is more than just a meal delivery – it’s about maintaining health, independence, and dignity for homebound seniors in the community. Blood Drives

The American Red Cross urges donors to keep the blood supply top of mind and help save lives by making an appointment to give blood or platelets. All who come to give platelets through Oct. 5 will receive a classic Red Cross x PEANUTS sweatshirt featuring Snoopy as the coolest beagle in town, Joe Cool, while supplies last.

Washington Township Police Department is holding a Citizen’s Police Academy on Oct. 2, 9, and 16. A graduation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 22.

Gloucester County Nature Club

Sunday, Oct. 12

The 24th annual Ride to Remember will be held at Washington Township High School in honor of township Police Cpl. Steve Levy, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. It is hosted by the Gloucester County Hero Scholarship Fund. The ride is organized to commemorate those men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while ensuring the safety and well-being of the communities we have sworn to protect. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and kickstands up at 10 a.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

Shred Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Washington Township Municipal Building parking lot, 523 Egg Harbor Road.

Nature Trail Walk in Washington Lake Park will be led by naturalist from the South Jersey Land and Water Trust. Explore the network of natural trails in the Park, and learn about the woodlands and wetlands and creatures that call them home, as well as threats caused by invasive species. Thursday, Oct. 30

The Washington Township Police Department is hosting a spooktacular celebration filled with a free lunch, music and fun and costume prizes between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the township senior center. For senior members only.

The Washington Township Veterans Wall of Honor is accepting applications. Please note that eligibility to have a plaque on the Wall is: a Veteran who is a resident of Washington Township at the time of entrance into the military, a current resident, a member of a current resident’s immediate family (parent, spouse, sibling, or child). Kindly include the Veteran’s DD 214 and submit a 5×7 photo, preferably in uniform. Applications are available in the Municipal Building. License Your Furry Friend. Licensing your dog is not just a state requirement, but it also helps reunite lost pets with their owners and supports local animal services. The licenses expire Jan. 31 of each year.

The Washington Saves Lives Program is available for residents to use seven days a week between the hours 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. for a free ride from any bar or restaurant located within the township to their home. If you or if you know someone that may benefit from this program, please download the Uber application and use it during the designated hours.

The Washington Township Fire Department is accepting applications for volunteer firefighter. Become part of a progressive organization with the most up-to-date firefighting and rescue technology in the area. The Washington Township Ambulance and Rescue Association is currently seeking applicants for the position of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Full and Part-Time positions available. The Washington Township Police Department is participating in the new Special Needs Registry and Blue Envelope Program sponsored by the Gloucester County Police Chief’s Association and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. The registry gives police quick access in an emergency to critical information about a person who is registered. Individuals will also get a blue window decal as well as a blue envelope for their vehicle. These items let the police know that the occupants have a physical or mental condition that may not be apparent to the officer on scene.
