A 43-year-old township man pled guilty on July 28 to first-degree endangering the welfare of a child in 2022, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office.

The plea agreement agreed to by Judge John C. Eastlack Jr. will require Kevin Tomafsky to serve 10 years in prison, five of which must be served before parole eligibility. He will be placed on parole supervision for life and must register under Megan’s Law upon his release from prison, the prosecutor said. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 12.

Tomafsky was arrested on Dec. 14, 2022, after a search warrant was executed at his Washington Township residence by the prosecutor’s High Tech Crimes Unit. Detectives found devices belonging to Tomafsky that contained images of child sexual abuse and exploitation. Further investigation revealed that the defendant caused some of those images to be made and transmitted to him via the internet.

Charges against co-defendant Anthony D’Alessandro are pending.
