Work is scheduled to begin next week on repaving a portion of Main Street in Lumberton.

Pavement milling and overlay work on the road, also known as County Route 541, is expected to begin Monday, July 21. Approximately 1.1 miles will be repaved from Bobby’s Run Boulevard to just south of Willow Street.

The work is expected to take about a week to complete.

During the project, northbound traffic on Main Street will be maintained, but southbound traffic will be detoured using Bobby’s Run Boulevard and Route 612. Motorists using the roads will likely experience delays and are advised to seek alternative routes.

The work is being done by Arawak Paving Company Inc., of Hammonton, and is part of Burlington County’s annual road resurfacing program. A total of 33.4 miles of roadway in 16 Burlington County municipalities is expected to be resurfaced as part of Arawak’s repaving contract.
