I want to take a moment to make you aware of vehicle break-ins and thefts impacting our community and several neighboring towns. Harrison Township Chief of Police Ronald Cundey reported the following:

“We’re seeing a pattern similar to what many neighboring communities are experiencing, an uptick in vehicle burglaries and thefts,” he said. “In response, we’ve increased patrols and are taking proactive measures to deter suspicious activity. We urge all residents to remain vigilant, lock their vehicles, and report anything that seems out of the ordinary.”

In some of the reported cases, the vehicles involved were left unlocked or had the keys left inside, making them easy targets. By taking these simple precautions and remaining alert, you can help deter criminal behavior and protect your property:

  • Always lock your vehicle doors and roll up the windows, even in your driveway.
  • Never leave your keys or key fobs inside the vehicle.
  • Remove all valuables or store them out of sight.
  • Park in well-lit areas when possible.
  • Report suspicious behavior immediately.

Our top priority remains the safety and well-being of our residents. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
