Since 2002, the Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club has been committed to serving our town, the
South Jersey area and the world. Its members meet weekly on Thursday mornings to plan
projects and activities that help meet community needs and solve problems.

Rotary International is the oldest service organization in the world and addresses
issues such as hunger, ignorance and child mortality. There are more than 1.2 million Rotarians all
over the world and more than 35,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries. The Rotary
Foundation is one of the world’s largest, and has consistently had one of the highest ratings in
Charity Navigator. Since the 1980s, the foundation and volunteers worldwide have spearheaded
the effort to eradicate polio.

In partnership with Hope Church and the Cathedral Kitchen, Voorhees Rotarians are helping
meet the needs of those in our area in need of food. Members regularly prepare meals for
hospitalized children and their families at the Ronald McDonald House in Camden. In our grade
schools, they purchase and organize delivery of healthy snacks, so our children’s learning is not
impaired. They support the efforts of the “Josh the Otter Water Safety Project” to help prevent
child drownings, one of the leading causes of death of youngsters.

The club’s members come from all walks of life and range in age from 39 to 93. They are a
diverse, energetic group that includes two past Rotary District Governors and
two current assistant governors, helping lead Rotary District 7505, which covers southern
and most of central New Jersey.

The club meets every Thursday at 7:30 a.m., alternating between online Zoom and in-person meetings at the Stratford Diner, at 19 South White Horse Pike. It is hosting several upcoming events. On Saturday, July 26, there is a bus trip to Yankee Stadium to see the Yankees play the Phillies. The bus leaves at 9 a.m. from AAA Voorhees. Tickets are $239 and include round-trip transportation and 200-level seats. Contact Sue Bromley at sbromley14@gmail.com or (609) 217-6235 for details.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, the club will host its annual trivia night at Lions Lake Park at 6:30
pm. Tickets are $45 and include light refreshments, prizes and basket auctions. Contact Roger Leonard at raljr@log-insuarnce.om or (856) 627-2600 for details. The club is also sponsoring town-wide yard sale on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Town Center parking lot. All residents are welcome. Cost is $25 for two parking spaces. The Voorhees Breakfast Rotary Club personifies the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
