Lenape district cites parent, student volunteers

Parent volunteers were recognized last month at a Lenape Regional High School board meeting that featured videos of their service.

The Lenape Regional High School District Board of Education celebrated outstanding volunteerism at its annual Volunteer Appreciation Night last month, recognizing both students and parents from across the district for their dedication to helping others.

The event featured a video tribute highlighting each honoree’s service and included remarks from high- school principals about them.

“Our student volunteers lead with empathy and initiative, taking meaningful action to make a difference in their schools and communities,” said Assistant Superintendent Matthew Webb. “We are proud to recognize their commitment to making a positive impact.”

Each high school principal introduced their school’s 2025 Student Volunteer Award winner. They are:
● Krithik Alluri, Lenape High School
● Rex Jacobs, Shawnee High
● Hardik Agrawal, Cherokee High
● Christina Ruiz Chavez, Seneca High

Parent volunteer award winners are:
● Brian Barbash, Lenape High School
● Robert Hurley, Shawnee High
● Michael Grossman, Cherokee High
● Louise and Steven Harris, Seneca High

“Our parent volunteers are an essential part of what makes LRHSD thrive,” said Superintendent Carol L. Birnbohm. “Their willingness to step up, support students and foster school spirit is a powerful example of community in action. We are truly grateful for their partnership.”
