Mount Laurel and IDEMIA – the official and authorized provider of TSA PreCheck enrollment – will host a four-day pop-up on making U.S. airport travel easier for residents.
The program begins Tuesday, June 3 and continues through Friday, June 6 at the township community center. Residents already a part of the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) PreCheck program can pre-enroll and schedule an in-person appointment at the center. Appointments will be first come, first served.
There are three steps to TSA PreCheck. Participants must submit an online application and schedule an appointment at the pop-up, then complete enrollment there. That process includes capturing fingerprints and a photo for the TSA background check. Indiiduals must also provide documentation proving identity and citizenship status, and they will get a Known Traveler Number (KTN) in three to five days.
TSA PreCheck was created to provide low-risk travelers with a smoother, timesaving experience at airport security checkpoints. It is open to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents. A $76.75 enrollment application fee – if approved – last five years.
Enrollees in the program can also get access to dedicated screening lanes at more than 200 U.S. airports, without having to remove shoes, laptops, certain liquids, belts or light jackets. Kids 17 and under may tag along with enrolled parents or guardians at no extra cost. Most TSA PreCheck passengers wait less than five minutes in security lines.
