Police said there was “no safety threat” to students and staff after an unfounded report of violence at Lenape Regional High School on Jan. 14, according to Medford police.
Police, fire and emergency medical services – along with the Evesham and Mount Laurel police departments – were dispatched to the school at 235 Hartford Road at approximately 11:08 a.m., and the school was placed in lockdown for two hours, police said.
Police conducted a search of the school and determined the initial report to be unfounded. An on-scene investigation revealed there was no safety threat to students and staff. The following day, the Burlington County School Crisis Response Team was at Lenape to provide extra counseling support for students and staff, according to the school district.
The Medford police criminal investigation bureau continues to investigate the incident.
