Police conducted a search of the school and determined the initial report to be unfounded. An on-scene investigation revealed there was no safety threat to students and staff. The following day, the Burlington County School Crisis Response Team was at Lenape to provide extra counseling support for students and staff, according to the school district.

The Medford police criminal investigation bureau continues to investigate the incident.
